Building fun icons with Lego Mosaic
Last week I was walking in the toy store and noticed a stand with Lego Mosaic. It allows you to build” icons” without computer from Lego pieces instead of pixels. I found it great and purchased one small Mosaic Set. In this article I will show how I built an icon “I love SoftFacade” from Lego.
My lovely wife and me came to the new SoftFacade office on a sunny Sunday morning to build an icon from Lego Mosaic and to test its creative functionality.
Press release on Lego website says: “LEGO Mosaic is a great new way to build color, artistic and creative skills while having fun at the same time!”
We also believed to get a lot of fun with this real icon builder.
This is how Lego Mosaic box looks:
We spent 15 minutes to create two amazing icons 16x16 pixels icons: “I love” and “SoftFacade logo”. Here is the result.
Later I found a post of Anton Gerasimenko (Russian icon designer) on his Livejournal blog where he created Xjournal icon. Looks really nice.
Also I found Google logo made of Lego.
And even Apple logo :)
