When Matt Galligan and Joe Stump teamed up to launch an original kind of mobile game based on geolocation, they realized that there’s no existent platform that would allow them to incorporate geo-data into applications. So they gave up the game idea and decided to concentrate on creating just such a platform and infrastructure. After coming up with the name SimpleGeo, the two partners asked us to lend a hand. The logo and these illustrations turned out to be just what the doctor ordered.

Our team picked the most readily identifiable item known to travelers, a compass. All that remained was to render it right. Since Joe and Matt told us they were pleased as Punch, we must have done a decent job.
The large color rendering is now used on the site and for promotional material. The contour version forms part of the company logo.

For every SimpleGeo product we had to draw their gorgeous logo. Matt gave us his ideas along with a few Easter eggs that we used to frame our concept sketches.
All in all, the project saw the design of five icons. Each one was designed in superfine detail. Along with the splendiferous icons, we've also created some pictograms to be used in company presentations.
At the end of 2010 SimpleGeo came to us with another challenging request. They needed two new logos lightning fast.
The logo for Places, the database of the business listings and points of interest, represents a mini-city, with special designations for the creators' favorite places. And the Context logo shows a photo of a specific location in San Francisco on the city map.
Seems SimpleGeo found it pleasant enough to work with us, so now they recommend SoftFacade to friends and associates. Word-of-mouth advertising can't be beat, can it?
